2022 was going peacefully until Davido and Burna Boy decided to drop their songs on the same day.
The new songs are supposed to be the first singles from their respective forthcoming albums. Davido’s fourth and Burna Boy‘s sixth.
When their albums drop, that will mean both of them have dropped three albums in the space of three years, and well, you can’t be more prolific than that in the music industry.
Of course, since it’s their first singles in a while, they’re going to do numbers. But sometimes, the numbers don’t really mean anything.
Davido’s “Stand Strong” has received praise for being a refined sound from the maestro and for being soulful, something Davido isn’t known for.
Burna Boy‘s “Last Last” on the other hand has received generally positive reviews for being a very personal and also relatable Burna Boy song.
Both songs are good in their own rights and any sane music listener could enjoy both if he tried. But which one of them is the best? I’m just gonna leave that for you all to decide.
