Suspected gunmen have kidnapped unknown numbers of female students at the Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation in the Mando in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The kidnapping happened in the early hours of today, newsmen learned.

According to reports, it was the female students that were abducted as the male students were not touched.

Mr. Samuel Aruwan, Kaduna State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, confirmed the incident, stating that investigation is in process.

Also, the Kaduna State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, Mohammed Jalige, ASP, confirmed the attack, noting that it took place last night.

The incident occurred less than 48 hours after Mr. Samuel Aruwan tendered the 2020 security situation reports to the state government, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai.

According to the report presented by the commissioner, he confirmed that bandits had killed not more than 937 persons, kidnapped 1,972 persons, and have rusted about 7195 castles in the state in 2020.

In the event’s event, the governor of Kaduna state, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, states that his administration does have room nor would condone negotiation or grant amnesty to bandits.
